How can you tell the difference between a normal scar and a keloid?
If the scar grows larger over time or is accompanied by itching and redness, there is a high possibility that it is a keloid. An accurate distinction can be confirmed through a professional diagnosis.
Is the scar treatment procedure painful?
For general scars, we use a needle-free method to reduce the burden of pain, and for keloids, we proceed in a way that minimizes pain.
How many scar treatment sessions do I need to see results?
For general scars, 3 to 5 sessions are required, while keloids may need 3 to 6 or more initial sessions depending on their activity level. It varies based on the condition and type of the scar, and the customized number of sessions for each individual will be guided after a diagnosis.
Is it possible to return to daily activities immediately after scar treatment?
In general, there is almost no swelling or bruising, allowing you to return to your daily routine on the same day. However, temporary dimpling or pigmentation may occur depending on the treated area, so please follow the aftercare instructions.
Don't keloids recur?
Due to constitutional factors, there is a possibility of recurrence. Even after stabilization, we recommend regular follow-up visits every 2 to 3 months.
The scar is old; is it still possible to treat it?
Yes, the current condition of the tissue (whether it is atrophic or hypertrophic) is a more important criterion than when the scar occurred, so even old scars can be treated after diagnosis.
